Time delays allow you to configure when a step should be activated. For example, sending a message the day before surgery or following up with a patient one week after start of a treatment.

How to use time delays?

Click on the transition line between the steps where you want to add a time delay. In the detail panel on the right, you can choose three options in the drop-down menu:

  1. In a default situation, all transitions are configured to go "immediately" to the next step

  2. "After a delay of" allows you to delay the steps for x minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or even years.

  3. "Use reference date" enables you to configure a transition after a certain step or event was completed. (E.g. 7 days after surgery.) The index event will need to be defined somewhere in the care pathway. Select this data point in the drop-down list and specify the delay you want to use.

Now, you've created time delays between steps. This allows you to bring your care pathway to the next level. Additionally, you can add conditions to transitions.
