Communication is king! Use the message action to send alerts to caregivers, inform patients about an upcoming consultation, or prepare them for their treatment by sending the necessary brochures along.

In case you're doubting about which action type is most appropriate:

  • Message: allows you to display an in-app message to your stakeholder, e.g. for messages containing PHI or other sensitive information about a patient's treatment, condition etc.

  • Send email: allows you to send a plain (templated) text email which is delivered to the stakeholder's email inbox - see this article

How to add an in-app message?

  • Double click on the step you'd like to add a message to

  • Press "Add action" in the step documentation section and select "Message" in the drop-down list.

How to configure an in-app message?

Set up the following items:

  • the action title - make it clear for your co-builders and reviewers what the message contains, with a concise and comprehensive title

  • the recipient of the message - the lucky duck that will be receiving your message

  • the subject of the message - the subject is referenced as the patient's activity title in their overview, choose wisely

  • the content of the message with rich media

Use 1-2-3 for different headings and increase the size of your font. Use bold, italics, underline, or cross out to mark up your text. Add numbers and bullets to give your message more structure.
