At some point, you'll stumble upon the need to create a new care flow in your organization. While this new care process might be similar to an existing one, it may have enough differences to justify creating a separate care flow.

Instead of rebuilding everything from scratch, we recommend duplicating the existing care flow and making the necessary edits from there.

How to duplicate a care flow?

  • Search for the original care flow you'd like to duplicate

    • Click the three dots at the end of the row to expand the menu

    • Click "Duplicate"

    • Confirm you'd like to continue with "Duplicate care flow"

⏱️ Hang tight - large care flows might take up to 60 seconds or longer to duplicate ⏱️

  • Navigate to your newly duplicated care flow, or stay on the Care flow Overview page

Important considerations

When you duplicate a care flow, it creates an exact copy of the original one. However, please note the following considerations:

  • The Hosted Pages sharing link is not duplicated. You must generate a new unique link for each duplicated care flow. You can learn more about the sharing link in our Hosted Pages settings guide.

  • Source Control settings are not duplicated, as this would overwrite your original care flow. You can read up on Source Control on our Developer hub.

  • Cases are not duplicated. Each duplicated care flow will start fresh without previous cases to preview.

  • Forms are not duplicated; the new care flow will reference the exact same forms as the original.

⚠️ Use forms with caution: Forms are shared resources in your organization, meaning that one single form can be used in multiple different care flows at the same time.

Note that any edits to a form will affect all care flows that use it.
